“Firms that adopt responsible social and environmental practices become more resilient, which helps them avoid crises and bounce back from shocks. They have lower financial volatility, higher sales growth, and higher chances of survival over a 15-year period; yet, we were unable to find any differences in short-term profits.” Ortiz-de-Mandojana, N., & Bansal, P. (2016).
With good reason, sustainable investing has been on the rise, with an increasing number of investors incorporating ESG factors into their decision-making processes. However, the surge in sustainable investing is accompanied by challenges, including backlash on ESG clarity and the broad definition, highlighting the delicate balance in addressing medium to long-term global issues within the sustainable investment landscape. Despite these challenges, there’s been tremendous growth in the underlying building blocks you can use to build a sustainable portfolio with attractive options for all types of investors.
The question remains: What defines a sustainable portfolio, and how do we navigate the balance between fixed income, equity, and alternative investments?
Join us as we seek the answers to these questions and more.
