The Story
behind
GreenBuzz

GreenBuzz Zurich is a not-for-profit organization with a network of 5,000+ Business changemakers, founded in 2010 by Falko Paetzold, who later went on to found the Center for Sustainable Finance and Private Wealth (CSP) at the University of Zurich.

Timeline

2010
Early Beginnings
Falko Paetzold invited around 15 sustainability professionals for a casual drink – he was looking to meet and learn from others working on sustainability topics in different industries.
2013
The Association
An independent non-profit association was founded to drive sustainability, grow the momentum and build on the traction that GreenBuzz had been gaining since 2010. Since then, the GreenBuzz community has grown to more than 5,000 Buzzers only in Zurich.
2014
The Expansion
GreenBuzz Global was established to address the demand from other cities, and new local chapters were founded in Berlin, Amsterdam, Geneva and Bern. Currently, we are focusing on our main chapter at Zurich and Berlin.
2018
Growth
GreenBuzz increased the number of events to over 20 a year and introduced a membership model to facilitate regular attendance at our events.
2023
Team
GreenBuzz Zurich has 3 employees and continues to grow, supported by the members, the board, ambassadors and volunteers.

Our Impact

Since its founding, the GreenBuzz team has organised hundreds of events and brought together thousands of business changemakers and sustainability enthusiasts. We collect impact data from our members and partners to identify where we could improve and where we are strongest. So are we achieving our mission? What is our impact?
