SUMMARY:Thematic Event: Overcoming Barriers to Circularity in Manufacturing
DESCRIPTION:As sustainability becomes a core priority for businesses worldwide\, the manufacturing sector is under increasing pressure to embrace more circular and environmentally friendly practices. Refurbishment presents a promising path forward\, offering a way to extend the life of products and reduce waste. \nHowever\, despite its potential\, the widespread adoption of refurbishment remains a significant challenge. What barriers prevent refurbishment from becoming a standard practice in the industry? \nThis insightful evening explore the complexities surrounding circularity in manufacturing from the perspectives of design\, production and logistics. \n\n\nOur panel of hand-picked experts looked at the various factors including: \n\nHow can manufacturing be made more circular all along the value chain?\nWhat hinders the large-scale implementation of refurbishment practices across supply chains?\nHow can challenges be turned into opportunities?\nWhat are key considerations in terms of cost competitiveness\, product design\, regulations\, and more?

SUMMARY:Networking Event: Switzerland's Hottest Emerging Climate-Tech Startups
DESCRIPTION:Along with our event partner Bluelion this event presented ten emerging climate-tech start-ups destined for big things and being supported on their way by Bluelion’s incubator as part of the KlimUp Program.  \nClearly technology alone will not be our way out of the climate crisis\, but it will be an important part of the solution. By harnessing technology and innovation\, these start-ups are actively working towards positive impacts on our future.  \nThe hand-picked climate-tech start-ups included: \n\nUnbound Potential\nFabas Food\nCotierra\nRematter AG\nIrmos\nNorm\nsallea\nKuori

SUMMARY:Networking Event Series: Sustainability from Space!
DESCRIPTION:[German Version Below] \nThis event was part of our Networking Event Series powered by Innosuisse. \nIn an era of unprecedented access to data and advanced analysis\, accurate geographic information is transforming the efficiency and sustainability of many industries – not least those of agriculture and forestry. \nThe potential of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) was acknowledged as far back as 2012 by the UN’s “The Future We Want”\, recognising “the relevance of global mapping and the efforts in developing global environmental observing systems”. \nNow in this rapidly developing scene\, we took a look at the state of play\, and the current challenges and opportunities. \n\n\nAhead of the upcoming implementation of the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR)\, this event brought together experts from policy\, academia\, technology and industry to discuss innovative strategies and practical solutions for adapting to these changes. \nIn doing so\, cross-industry experts discussed: \n\nHow is spatial mapping being used to monitor and protect forests?\nHow can geo-observation increase efficiencies and sustainability in agriculture?\nWhat is the role of centralised data storage and management platforms?\nHow can GIS enhance transparency and traceability across various industries?\n\n\nDiese Veranstaltung was Teil unserer Networking Event Series powered by Innosuisse.

SUMMARY:Thematic Event: Can Winter Sports Events Be Sustainable?
DESCRIPTION:As winter approaches\, excitement builds towards another winter sports season – but for how much longer? As weather and snowfall become more unpredictable\, this cornerstone of Swiss winters will face more challenges moving forward. \nOutdoor winter sports events are impacted by climate change\, but at the same time offering a powerful platform to influence wider sustainable practices and behaviours. On 28 November\, we brought together key stakeholders in outdoor winter sports to address questions including: \n\nWhat is driving the environmental footprint of outdoor winter sports events? How does this footprint compare to that of other sports and entertainment products?\nWhat can stakeholders do to advance environmental sustainability of outdoor winter sports events? How can a constructive dialog be initiated and maintained?\nWhat is the role of corporate sponsorship in ensuring a positive impact?\nHow sustainable are winter sports events/locations in the face of climate change – and how can they become more environmentally friendly?\nWhat can be the sustainable legacy of sporting events?\n\nThis was an engaging discussion that explored the powerful intersection of sports and environmental responsibility.
