SUMMARY:SOLD OUT - Networking Event Series: ESG Scores Drinks
DESCRIPTION:This event is part of our Networking Event Series powered by Innosuisse! \nESG scores and rankings are becoming increasingly important to companies and investors. They have also reached the public sphere: Last year\, the fact that some oil companies performed better on ESG rankings than Tesla made a big splash. Join this Informal Drinks event at S&P Global Switzerland to learn more about this and ESG scores in general! \nESG scores aim to measure a company’s management of financially relevant ESG (Environmental\, Social & Governance) risks and opportunities. They are carried out by ratings organizations\, both commercial and not-for-profit. \nHow can ESG scores assist companies in improving their environmental and social performance? How is ESG data collected and audited? Why do ESG scores from different rating companies diverge so much? \nJoin us for this informal event on April 4th to discuss these and more questions with like-minded people. We will hear from two  companies and discuss together the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. \nFurther questions we’d like to discuss: \n\nHow are ESG ratings frameworks developed?\nWhat is the balance between ES and G?\nWhat are the main focuses of the various rating agencies?\nCan we compare different industries?\nAre ESG scores a good proxy for corporate social responsibility?\nWhat is the contribution\, if any\, of ESG scores to making companies more sustainable?\n\nBring your questions and join us for a lively discussion on ESG scores and enjoy networking with other professionals in the field.

SUMMARY:SOLD OUT - Thematic Event: Future of Food - How to feed 8 billion sustainably?
DESCRIPTION:By 2050\, we will have to feed 10 billion people\, and our current food systems are not up to the challenge. While demand is ever-increasing\, resources are in decline. It is a vicious cycle that is further exacerbated by unsustainable agricultural practices and food systems that have negative effects on biodiversity\, the environment and our health. \nBut what has to change in order to achieve a more sustainable food system? \nA recent article by Prof. Robert Finger from the World Food System Center (WFSC) of ETH Zurich\, outlines the most important fields of action to make the food system more sustainable. These include avoiding waste\, increasing efficiency\, closing cycles and replacing and improving current practices. \nTechnological advancements will certainly help. For example\, precision fermentation needs 1\,700 times less land than even the most efficient agricultural means of producing protein available today. However\, food is deeply rooted in our cultures\, so change will be difficult to achieve. Therefore\, we need to start discussing solutions now and turn them into reality. \nJoin this event and learn more about the challenges in our food system and concrete actions to make it more sustainable. \nOur speakers will focus on the areas highlighted in the above report. \n6 Key areas: \n\nAvoid Waste\nIncrease efficiency\nReplace and improve\nFight the cause not the symptoms\nClose cycles\nPromote acceptance and sustainable behaviour\n\n\n–
